As in the past years, Symbow Medical presented new models of its innovative medical technologies and products in the Main Imaging Hall at the 68th CMEF in October 2012 in Chengdu, China.
CMEF (China International Medicinal Equipment Fair), founded in 1979, is held twice a year - spring and autumn. After 30 years of continuous innovation and self-improvement, it has become the largest exhibition of medical equipment, related products and services in the Asia-Pacific region. The exhibition widely covers ten thousands of products such as medical imaging, in vitro diagnosis, electronics, optics, first aid, rehabilitation nursing, medical information technology and outsourcing services, and it provides services to the entire medical industry chain from the source to the end of the medical equipment industry in a direct and all-round way.
With its advanced products and medical solutions in the fields of early breast cancer detection and minimally invasive therapy, including the first SFDA and CE approved Megrez® Navigation System and OPTIMUS Dual Modality Breast Imaging System with Ultrasound and diffusion optical tomography (DOT), Symbow Medical has made a profound appearance on the 68th CMEF Spring 2012 at Chengdu Exhibition.
OPTIMUS, the early breast cancer detection system, adopts the unique dual modality imaging technology to obtain breast morphological information using ultrasound and to acquire functional information by DOT. Attracted by its unique proprietary technology and advanced DOT technology concepts, visitors from worldwide stopped by Symbow Medical’s booth and looked into the functionality and operations of the product. OPTIMUS is an ideal tool for breast cancer screening as accuracy-improved diagnosis.
The other major product presented by Symbow Medical during the exhibit was the MRI, CT and PET/CT compatible Megrez® navigation system. The system provides flexible surgical planning and accurate real-time guidance under intraoperative imaging of MRI, CT or PET/CT. Megrez® is the only commercialized product that provides true MRI compatibility, i.e., the system can navigate while MRI is acquiring images. With intraoperative guidance, minimally invasive surgery or interventional therapy can be performed with improved accuracy, better efficiency and enhanced safety.

Visitors stopped by Symbow Medical’s booth and showed great interest in Megrez® MRI, CT and PET/CT compatible navigation System.
